Tranquility Yields Transcendence
“When you do things right, people won’t be sure you’ve done anything at all.”
Mandarin Chinese is quite a beautiful language with a poetic compression of meaning.
There are many Chinese 成語 (chéngyǔ) idioms. Many of them are four words. Miniature poems.
For example, 寧靜致遠 (níngjìng zhìyuǎn).
寧靜 means quiet and peaceful. Tranquil.
致遠 is to go far. Far in life. A long Journey.
It reminds me of one of my favorite mantras:
“Slow is Smooth, Smooth is Fast”
It originated from military strategy, and applies to most situations.
